Boumerdes is located about 55 km east of Algiers, the capital city of Algeria.  At 9:41 a.m. local time (0841 GMT), an accident happened on National Road No. 24 near the village of El Karma. The bus, which was on its way from Setif in the east, veered off the road, overturned, and dropped into a ravine, according to the department. The Civil Protection Department said it sent three rescue vehicles and eleven ambulances to the scene. Rescue teams continue to evacuate and provide medical help, transporting the injured to local hospitals.

Early Friday, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority reported, "We have retrieved 31 bodies to date. Our rescuers have identified three additional bodies within the mine and are working to retrieve them." Ukrainian forces carried out a drone attack on the commercial ship "Ana" in the Caspian Sea early Saturday morning, killing Nima Moradi, a young sailor from Bandar Anzali on his first voyage.  He has a strong link to Bandar Anzali Malavan Football Club. The drone strikes occurred when the ship "Ana" was heading from the Russian port of Astrakhan to Bandar Anzali.  Iran released a photo on Monday of one of its sailors who was martyred as a result of a Ukrainian attack on a commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea.  Tehran has also declared that it will take revenge for Ukraine's attack.

At least 35 people were killed in a collision between two luxury passenger buses in a central-eastern desert area of Syria on Saturday, SANA News Agency reported. Thirty more people were injured in the "collision between two passenger buses on the Damascus-Deir Ezzor road," according to SANA, which quoted a health ministry official.  The Ambulance and Emergency Department at Syria’s Health Ministry announced that the death toll has climbed to 38, while many others have sustained injuries, with several people in critical condition.  Emergency teams are continuing their efforts to evacuate victims and take the injured to hospitals. West Bank, Palestine - A shootout in the occupied West Bank has killed at least four Palestinians and two Israelis, making it the deadliest single incident in that region in a couple of months.  Multiple stories have arisen about what happened in the northern village of Tal.  Palestinians told the BBC on Friday that citizens challenged Zionist settlers who were attacking them. According to an eyewitness, soldiers arrived and started shooting. The Israeli soldiers said that they intervened in response to complaints of hikers being assaulted. The 24-bed bus deviated and crashed   into a roadside barrier  at around 2:30 a.m., according to local police, while traveling through Hung Thinh Commune, more than 18 miles from Bien Hoa City, the capital of Dong Nai. 7 people were killed and 5 injured when a sleeper bus caught fire early on Monday morning while traveling through Dong Nai City on National Highway 1. A bus crash in Uganda brought about at least 20 children's deaths and 60 injuries.  The children headed home from a school trip to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa District, according to the preliminary inquiry. The driver apparently lost control of the bus and struck a large rock, causing it to drift off on a perilous route.  The school's owner is among those who lost their lives in the terrible accident. The bus carrying pupils from King David Junior School in Ndejje flipped over at Chekwatit hamlet in the Kawowo area around 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT), according to the government. A gas cylinder explosion in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, killed five Pakistani workers on Wednesday, according to the Kingdom's police. The explosion happened in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in the Manfouha district.  All five of the victims were from the Mansehra region of KPK, according to a preliminary report. July 15 - (The Global News Desk 115) — At least six people were reported dead and two injured following a fire on Tuesday at an under-construction building in the center of Brussels.  Authorities confirmed that the bodies were located in an elevator at the site. The elevator in the building ceased to function after a fire destroyed lift cables. The bodies were retrieved from an elevator that was trapped in a shaft at the Oxy tower located in the city center, during an operation that lasted for several hours. Firefighters discovered that the blaze had spread to the elevator shafts, where two elevators were halted, despite the fire being put out immediately. Philippe Close, the mayor of Brussels, hailed the emergency services for their "remarkable efforts" during "especially tough circumstances." Prime Minister Bart De Wever and Belgian King Philippe arrived at the scene in the afternoon, according to the media in Belgium.
