August, 26 - (The Global News Desk 115) – A UN report revealed that at least 47 people were killed and more than 50 others were abducted by a violent armed group in Haiti. The incident took place near Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, the UN said in a statement.  The United Nations reported on Tuesday that at least 47 people were killed, and more than 50 were kidnaped following an attack on a law-abiding community near Haiti's capital earlier this week. This terrorist act is thought to be the largest mass kidnapping in Haiti in recent times, with the gang lord threatening to harm the hostages if the government goes after any gang members while working to secure the area in the mountain peaks above the capital.   A train derailed in Mexico, killing at least 13 people and injuring 100 others. The train, carrying over 200 people, derailed on Sunday in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.  The Mexican Navy's report said that the train derailed in the vicinity of Nizanda, carrying 241 passengers along with nine crew members on board. Local news reports say the Mexican Navy runs the railway line in the "Shoreline Belt" region. The Mexican Navy reported that 139 people are safe, 98 were injured, and sadly, 13 died in the incident. Emergency crews quickly responded to the deadly incident, while bodies were transported to a hospital for identification.
