Asif Ali Zardari, the president of Pakistan, undertook an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on July 6, according to the country's official media. The foreign office said that Zardari would attend a cultural gathering while in the country and would also meet President Sadyr Japarov to discuss potential cooperation. During the visit, the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan will discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda and prospects for further strengthening cooperation, the press statement said. President Sadyr Japarov received Zardari at Issyk-Kul International Airport, where a formal reception with an honor guard was held.
