Terrorist Attack Martyred Policemen

July 31 - (The Global News Desk 115) - Dozens of police officers were killed and injured when terrorists blew up a checkpoint in north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Insurgents launched the series of attacks in the Hangu region of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, near the Afghanistan border, the provincial police headquarters said.  Authorities reported on Thursday that around 11 police officers were killed and 28 others were injured in the recent ambush at a security checkpoint in northern Pakistan.  The attack was allegedly carried out by the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to the KPK police. Attacks on government buildings and security forces in northwest and southwest Pakistan have long been carried out by the TTP. Pakistan: Torrential rain wrought havoc in KPK

The Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, heavy monsoon rains have led to 12 deaths and 18 injuries within a span of three days. The PDMA, Rescue 1122, and additional agencies continued their efforts in rescue and response; district administrations were ordered to speed up relief operations and extend immediate help to families that were impacted. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide notice for flash floods, urban flooding, and landslides from July 21 to 24, according to a KPK government announcement. According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) between Sunday and Tuesday, the deceased included five adults, two of whom were women, as well as five children.
