Terrorist Attack Martyred Policeman

July 31 - (The Global News Desk 115) - Dozens of police officers were killed and injured when terrorists blew up a checkpoint in north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Insurgents launched the series of attacks in the Hangu region of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, near the Afghanistan border, the provincial police headquarters said.

Authorities reported on Thursday that around 11 police officers were killed and 28 others were injured in the recent ambush at a security checkpoint in northern Pakistan.

The attack was allegedly carried out by the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to the KPK police.

Attacks on government buildings and security forces in northwest and southwest Pakistan have long been carried out by the TTP.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the families of those who were martyred.

No other piece of information about the deceased was immediately released by the KPK government authorities.
