August, 12 - (The Global News Desk 115)- Local authorities reported that at least 44 people sank after a boat was overcrowded and capsized in Zimbabwe. The heart-wrenching accident happened on the world's largest artificial lake, Kariba, in Zimbabwe on Tuesday. The boat was manufactured for 90 people, but it had more than 112 passengers, five crew members, and an unknown number of children, (CPU) earlier broke the news on Wednesday, based on ticket sales. One of the eyewitnesses informed the foreign media outlets that 153 people were on the boat when it turned over on Tuesday after being trapped in massive waves. 44 corpses were retrieved from the lake. The police updated the death toll on Wednesday evening through X, a social media platform.
