Members of the outlawed Jamaat-ul-Ahrar gang attacked the main entrance of a Rangers camp in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar neighborhood late Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The assailants used an explosive to launch their attack before trying to break into the premises. As a result of the gunfire, three militants were killed, and another was captured with injuries, while the Rangers team effectively confronted the intruders. The military indicates that the detained suspect is an Afghan national. Stressing that the sacrifice of the deceased troops would not be in vain, the Pakistani military has said that it will take swift action against those responsible for the attack.
