Egyptian Authorities Claim To Have Neutralized 52 Militants In Sinai Peninsula

Cairo, Egypt — Egyptian military in coordination with security forces have taken out at least 52 Islamic State militants in the Sinai Peninsula. Military sources told the media on Sunday that in newly launched anti-terrorist operation 52 terrorists were killed and 49 others were nabbed in intelligence based raids in different areas of Sinai. It further added that during the security forces operation, 26 militants hideouts and several weapons depots were annihilated. In the same operation, 64 explosive devices were also dismantled. Sources added that since the February 2018, more than 300 Islamic State militants have been killed in the anti-terrorist operation launched by the police and military in Egypt's Sinai desert.
