Pakistan: Torrential rain wrought havoc in KPK

The Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, heavy monsoon rains have led to 12 deaths and 18 injuries within a span of three days.

The PDMA, Rescue 1122, and additional agencies continued their efforts in rescue and response; district administrations were ordered to speed up relief operations and extend immediate help to families that were impacted.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide notice for flash floods, urban flooding, and landslides from July 21 to 24, according to a KPK government announcement.

According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) between Sunday and Tuesday, the deceased included five adults, two of whom were women, as well as five children.

Punjab is also affected by downpours in Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Jhelum, Narowal, and other areas in the northeast, which left three more persons dead and over a dozen injured.

The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has reported that significant rainfall has caused interruptions in 148 feeders across various regions of the province.

Train Collision In Spain: 39 Passengers Killed & 122 Injured

Córdoba, Spain -  At least 39 passengers were killed when two trains crashed in Córdoba at around 19:45 on Sunday.  Córdoba is a city in Andalusia, a southern region of Spain, and it is the provincial capital. According to official reports, out of 122 people who received medical care for their injuries, 48, including five children, are still in the hospital. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced three days of mourning and vowed to conduct a "thorough and absolutely transparent" investigation into the incident.  The high-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia will be halted until at least Friday.  Local media reports that authorities have started up offices in numerous locations where victims' relatives may provide DNA samples to assist in the deceased's identification.
