The monsoon floods and landslides have killed 19 people.
8 people were confirmed dead in Nagaland on Sunday, and 11 others lost their lives in the Indian-controlled area of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for
"extremely heavy downpour" in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.
The government has temporarily suspended the annual pilgrimage to
Amarnath in Kashmir, which frequently attracts hundreds of thousands of people
each year.
Floods and landslides are common during the monsoon months, which
usually extend from June to September.
