Bus Crash in Syria claimed 35 lives

At least 35 people were killed in a collision between two luxury passenger buses in a central-eastern desert area of Syria on Saturday, SANA News Agency reported.

Thirty more people were injured in the "collision between two passenger buses on the Damascus-Deir Ezzor road," according to SANA, which quoted a health ministry official. 

The Ambulance and Emergency Department at Syria’s Health Ministry announced that the death toll has climbed to 38, while many others have sustained injuries, with several people in critical condition. 

Emergency teams are continuing their efforts to evacuate victims and take the injured to hospitals.

The collision happened between "a bus carrying soldiers of internal security forces and a civilian bus," according to the interior ministry's announcement, but it did not specify how many of its forces were killed.

The minister of emergency and disaster management described the road accident as "one of the deadliest road accidents in Syria in recent years in terms of casualties."

Train Collision In Spain: 39 Passengers Killed & 122 Injured

Córdoba, Spain -  At least 39 passengers were killed when two trains crashed in Córdoba at around 19:45 on Sunday.  Córdoba is a city in Andalusia, a southern region of Spain, and it is the provincial capital. According to official reports, out of 122 people who received medical care for their injuries, 48, including five children, are still in the hospital. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced three days of mourning and vowed to conduct a "thorough and absolutely transparent" investigation into the incident.  The high-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia will be halted until at least Friday.  Local media reports that authorities have started up offices in numerous locations where victims' relatives may provide DNA samples to assist in the deceased's identification.
