Factory Fire Kills 16 Workers

August, 12 - (The Global News Desk 115) -  16 workers were killed in a fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in KSA on Monday. A deadly blaze started at the sofa factory located in the Musa Industrial Area, Al-Shifa district of Riyadh, KSA, around 2:00 PM local time on Sunday. Local media outlets said that all the victims were Bangladeshi Nationals.  Bangladesh's Foreign Minister expressed heartfelt sorrow over the tragic losses of innocent workers in Saudi Arabia. He further stated that losses are extremely disappointing The Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia kept "constant communication" with local authorities, according to Dhaka's Expatriates' Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury. Further, he said that officials are told to ensure the fast return of the bodies of the deceased expatriates and to receive necessary government support and compensation for their families.  

Chopper Crash: 4 Killed In Brazil

August, 09 - (The Global News Desk 115) -  . A helicopter meant for tourists, packed with a pilot and three Colombian women, plummeted in a forest today. . A helicopter crashed in a forest in Rio de Janeiro at around 11: 11 A.M local time.  Today, Brazilian authorities announced that 3 of the victims were women from Colombia, all part of the same family. Early reports suggest that one of the tourists was taking pictures over Tijuca National Park when the helicopter crashed into a steep, heavily wooded area. This made it very difficult for firefighters and other rescue teams to reach the location and rescue victims.  Firefighters and other rescue teams leaped into action as soon as they received a phone call at 11:30 A.M Saturday.  The helicopter blew up right after hitting the ground, causing a fire that was put out. At the site, rescue teams found that all four tourists' corpses were burned completely.     . 

Tanker Crash Kills 20

August, 09 - (The Global News Desk 115) - About people were killed, and several others received injuries on Friday night when a  20-wheeler diesel tanker overturned in the Bangui region. Bangui is the largest city and the capital of the Central African Republic. The initial report by eyewitnesses said that the driver, who was driving very fast, lost control of the truck loaded with diesel, leading to a deadly accident. Local authorities have not confirmed the final death toll yet, but the Provisional Government says the toll is 20. Furthermore, scores of others injured were transported to Bangui hospital for treatment.

Thailand Shooting: 7 Killed, 30 Injured

August 07 - (The Global News Desk 115) - Police reported that on Friday, a boy shot and killed seven people, including his grandparents, at a school near Bangkok before taking his own life. The teen assailant killed teachers and staff members. According to the government, the 14-year-old shooter used a gun that was his grandfather's.  Classes at Debsirin Secondary were canceled from August 10 to August 14, and teachers were asked to work from home during that time.  After the heart-wrenching school tragedy that brought about several deaths, Thailand's prime minister vowed to introduce a bill that would make it difficult for people to carry guns.

Amnesty International: India's weapons supply to Israel aids the Palestinian genocide

August 05 - (The Global News Desk 115) - A new Amnesty International report revealed that India is still supplying weapons to Israel, despite the significant possibility that they could be used in the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The continuation of the supply of Weaponry to Israel underlines how India has consolidated an advantageous connection with the Israeli defense sector, becoming an essential part of Israel's military supply chains. This investigation shows how the main Israeli military suppliers have received Indian weaponry, ammunition, parts, and components by analyzing shipment-level trade data. Indian companies have sent at least 390,516 parts for small arms used in military-grade weapons, 564,871 explosive ordnance items such as drone warheads and artillery shell casings, and 291 military vehicle parts to major Israeli companies that supply the Israeli military directly. 8 more Palestinians martyred in Gaza

August 03 - (The Global News Desk 115) - Palestinian medical sources reported that Israeli soldiers martyred 8 Palestinians, including women and children, regardless of the Gaza peace accord. Gaza's media reporters reported on Sunday that 3 Gazans were martyred by Israeli fire. A deadly scene was set in motion when an Israeli airstrike targeted an apartment in the al-Qarara neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, bringing about the deaths of a husband, wife, and their daughter. Three others sustained injuries in the same onslaught. In a separate Israeli assault, 69-year-old Muailiq and his 59-year-old wife were martyred when an Israeli chopper targeted their residence in central Gaza. Furthermore, al-Shifa Hospital administration said that three Palestinians residents of the al-Sousi Tower, which is near the port area, were martyred in an Israeli fire. The names and identities of all victims martyred in Israeli attacks were revealed.

13 Killed After Light Jet Plummeted in Peru

 August 02  - (The Global News Desk 115) - A light jet carrying tourists above the Nazca Lines in Peru plummeted to the ground, killing 13 passengers. Near Nazca, a city on Peru's southern coast known for its archeological and tourism attractions, the small light plane crashed in a deadly accident. Peruvian state TV said the aircraft had two pilots and 11 tourists when it plummeted. It had taken off from Pisco airport for a tourist trip over the Nazca Lines, which are ancient geoglyphs cut into the desert that are best viewed from above. But, a local news source reported that the plane lost communication with the control tower minutes after departure. The smoldering wreckage of what looked to be the little plane was visible in disturbing footage that was posted on social media.
