Factory Fire Kills 16 Workers

August, 12 - (The Global News Desk 115) - 

16 workers were killed in a fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in KSA on Monday.

A deadly blaze started at the sofa factory located in the Musa Industrial Area, Al-Shifa district of Riyadh, KSA, around 2:00 PM local time on Sunday.

Local media outlets said that all the victims were Bangladeshi Nationals. 

Bangladesh's Foreign Minister expressed heartfelt sorrow over the tragic losses of innocent workers in Saudi Arabia. He further stated that losses are extremely disappointing

The Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia kept "constant communication" with local authorities, according to Dhaka's Expatriates' Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury.

Further, he said that officials are told to ensure the fast return of the bodies of the deceased expatriates and to receive necessary government support and compensation for their families.

Train Collision In Spain: 39 Passengers Killed & 122 Injured

Córdoba, Spain -  At least 39 passengers were killed when two trains crashed in Córdoba at around 19:45 on Sunday.  Córdoba is a city in Andalusia, a southern region of Spain, and it is the provincial capital. According to official reports, out of 122 people who received medical care for their injuries, 48, including five children, are still in the hospital. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced three days of mourning and vowed to conduct a "thorough and absolutely transparent" investigation into the incident.  The high-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia will be halted until at least Friday.  Local media reports that authorities have started up offices in numerous locations where victims' relatives may provide DNA samples to assist in the deceased's identification.
