August 02 - (The Global News Desk 115) - A light jet carrying tourists above the Nazca Lines in Peru plummeted to the ground, killing 13 passengers.
Near
Nazca, a city on Peru's southern coast known for its archeological and tourism
attractions, the small light plane crashed in a deadly accident.
Peruvian
state TV said the aircraft had two pilots and 11 tourists when it plummeted.
It
had taken off from Pisco airport for a tourist trip over the Nazca Lines, which
are ancient geoglyphs cut into the desert that are best viewed from above.
But,
a local news source reported that the plane lost communication with the control
tower minutes after departure.
The
smoldering wreckage of what looked to be the little plane was visible in
disturbing footage that was posted on social media.
