August 05 - (The Global
News Desk 115) - A new Amnesty International report revealed that
India is still supplying weapons to Israel, despite the significant possibility
that they could be used in the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The continuation of the
supply of Weaponry to Israel underlines how India has consolidated an
advantageous connection with the Israeli defense sector, becoming an essential
part of Israel's military supply chains.
This investigation shows
how the main Israeli military suppliers have received Indian weaponry,
ammunition, parts, and components by analyzing shipment-level trade data.
Indian companies have
sent at least 390,516 parts for small arms used in military-grade weapons,
564,871 explosive ordnance items such as drone warheads and artillery shell
casings, and 291 military vehicle parts to major Israeli companies that supply
the Israeli military directly.
The report clearly shows
that India's defence alliance with Israel is not a standalone situation.
Australia is among the
other nations that also engage in defence and arms industry relations with
Israel, and it similarly risks complicity by remaining a crucial participant in
the creation and distribution of defence supplies.
Australia, India, and
other countries are required to meet their commitments under international law
by ceasing the supply of arms and components that could result in violations.
