At least 14 children died, and several others were injured as a result of the roof collapse at a tuition center in the Kahna locality of Lahore.
After the rescue efforts were finalized, authorities took five people into custody.
Punjab government authorities said at a press briefing that a tuition center's ceiling collapsed in Lahore's Kahna district on Tuesday, killing at least 14 children and injuring many others.
Post-incident, 19 children were transported to Kahna Tehsil Headquarters
Hospital, according to the Punjab Health Minister.
The ministry confirmed that the roof fall resulted in the deaths
of 14 pupils.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Punjab Chief Minister
Maryam Nawaz and President Asif Ali Zardari, expressed their deep sorrow over
the fatalities and offered their condolences to the grieving families.
