The Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) is
in a strong position to form a government in Gilgit-Baltistan, having won 11
out of 24 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, according to
unofficial results from the June 8, 2026, elections.
The PML-N took second place, with six seats.
According to reports from local media agencies, the PTI's
candidates succeeded in winning only two seats, while its ally, MWM, was
successful in one seat.
On the other hand, independent candidates secured a total of
four seats.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari declared victory on Monday, saying
that the PPP is now the "single largest party" in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Pakistan Peoples Party is positioning itself as the
foremost party, and we will endeavor to create a government in Gilgit-Baltistan
(G.B).
This territory is split into three divisions: Gilgit,
Baltistan, and Diamer, which are further subdivided into 10 districts.
