ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - President Asif Ali Zardari sets off on his four-day official visit
to Bahrain on Tuesday. First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari accompanied the
president.
The Bahrain National Guard Commander, Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al
Khalifa, and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani gave
President Zardari a warm welcome upon his arrival in Manama, according to the President's Office.
According to PTV, President Zardari will address Bahrain's ruler
and crown prince at the Economic Development Board's offices in Manama.
"The interactions will focus on bilateral, regional, and
international issues of mutual interest," the foreign office reported.
Asif's visit aims to bolster Pakistan's growing collaboration with
the Gulf nation while also exploring new potential in commerce, economics,
defense, security, and cultural links, according to the FO.
