South Korea - A massive explosion in an office building near the
city's district court building early Thursday killed seven people and injured
46.
The incident took place in the South Korean city of Daegu.
The boom rattled buildings several kilometers distant, according
to eyewitnesses.
The cause of the attack is still being investigated, but police
suspect it was an arson attack. Officials said the suspect, a man in his
50s, died on the spot.
At approximately 10:55 a.m. local time, more than 150 firefighters
were dispatched to the building after the fire broke out (1:55 GMT), according
to the BBC, the firefighter team
extinguished the fire in 20 minutes. All of the victims
were taken to the hospital immediately.
