Kabul, Afghanistan — Afghan Government forces suffered a serious setback as the Taliban insurgents seized
more districts in the different provinces of Afghanistan ahead of NATO pull
out, state media reported on Saturday. Afghan officials said on Saturday that
the Taliban overrun the Mardian district in Jawzjan province after
inflicting heavy losses upon opponent forces. In another adventure, the Taliban
seized Posh district in Faryab province on Friday. Long War Journal
(LWJ), documented 32 additional districts had been captured by Taliban
fighters since May 1.
