KABUL, Afghanistan — About 24 Afghan National
Army members were killed and several more wounded 'after their citadels came
under Taliban organized and blistering offensive in the Khashrod district of
southwestern Nimroz province. Jalil Ahmad Watandost, Khashrod district Head, told media outlets during the press briefing that militants attacked and
destroyed a military base located near Khashrod district, on Thursday night. In
the Taliban attack, 24 Afghan soldiers were killed and six others taken as hostages
government officials further added. The same source said a large cache of
weapons and ammo was meant to be used against the insurgents also confiscated
by the Taliban.
