Afghan Police Van Targeted By Roadside Improvised Explosive Device, killing 11 Officers
KABUL, Afghanistan
— At least 11 Afghan National Police members including a
local station house officer (SHO), were reportedly killed in a roadside
blast, took place on Friday midnight, in Afghanistan's northeastern province of
Badakhshan, a provincial police spokesman informed media outlets during the
press briefing on Saturday morning. The same source further added that accident
occurred at predawn time, when a vehicle packed with local Afghan policemen
trapped in an explosive mine in the rural area of Khash district of Badakhshan province.No other piece of information about the deceased was immediately released by the Afghan government authorities.
