Insurgents have managed to take control of two more strategically important districts bordering with Tajikistan. The Darqad and Yangi Qala districts of Takhar Province of Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, a spokesperson for the provincial governor said Tuesday. In an attempt, to foil the militant's assault on Yangi Qala district, more than 16 Afghan security forces, and 28 Taliban fighters were killed including their prominent leader Mullah Imamuddin, government officials said. Takhar is a province of Afghanistan, located in the northeast of the country next to Tajikistan.
