Afghanistan: Taliban Seize Main Buildings Of Darah District

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Afghan government officials confirmed the collapse of the center of Darah district to the Taliban Jihadists. On Saturday evening, the spokesperson for the police chief of Farah province, told the media that the Taliban had captured the main government buildings including police headquarter of Darah district. He added that the Afghan government withdrew its forces to prevent further losses. The report more added that the government troops will be redeployed as soon as possible in order to regain control of the lost constituency. Afghan government source further said that during the brief gunbattle both sides sustained heavy losses, an exact figure of casualties yet to be ascertained.
