Afghanistan : Taliban Suffer Large Casualties, In Overnight Military Assault

KANDAHAR, Afganistan — As many as 23 members of Taliban Jihadists were killed and wounded in Afghan forces overnight operation in Kandahar province. The intelligence-based operation was launched in Kandhar province, on Friday night when Jihadists were planning more deadly attacks on NDS Special forces. Afghan national army said in a statement that in overnight military assault 17 Taliban were perished and 6 others were wounded. In the successful anti-Taliban operation military helicopters and ground forces participated. In operation, a large number of deadly explosive mines which were planted in the populated area were also removed by the Afghan special forces. On Thursday, at least 12 police officers were killed and more than 80 wounded when Taliban launched a massive attack on police headquarters in the Afghan city of Kandahar. Press release issued by the Afghan military media on 20th July 2019, reported that more than 66 Taliban Jihadists had been killed in Badakhshan, Faryab, Helmand, Badghis, Urozgan, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Balkh, Paktika, Takhar, Kunduz, and Sar-e-Pul provinces within 36 hours following the successful series of anti-terrorism operation.
