ANKARA, Turkey — Turkish Counterterrorism
department claimed that as many as 141 Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)
terrorists were eliminated in the country’s southeastern provinces as well as
Iraq’s northern semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in the month of May. The press
release issued by the Interior Ministry on Monday said that 141 PKK
militants were either killed or wounded in the ground and aerial assault last
month. The report further added that 3,645 civilians were nabbed for suspicious
activities or having a link with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militant
group last month.
