On Saturday, the Russian military announced that it had taken control of the underground citadel of the Ukrainian military command center in the city of Nikolaevka on the outskirts of Kyiv.
According to RT, the Russian military in a statement that 61 Ukrainian soldiers, half of whom were senior officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, had voluntarily surrendered from the controlled center.
Due to severe shortages of equipment, ammunition, and food, the Ukrainian military has collectively abandoned its combat activities.
All military personnel who surrendered were reportedly evacuated from the area and provided with basic facilities.
