Web News KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan government officials have announced the killing of 44 Afghan soldiers in Taliban attacks on Charchino district of southern Uruzgan province. The Charchino district police officer informed the media on Sunday that as much as 44 Afghan soldiers were martyred when hundreds of Taliban carried out deadly attacks on the military checkpoints outside the city. The Charchino district Police chief, Akhtar Muhammad further added that the Taliban attempt to seize the district has been foiled, and the situation is under control.
