Bashar al-Assad renamed Hussein Arnous as Prime Minister, and dictated him to form a new cabinet, the SANA reported on Sunday. Assad issued the order following the fourth time victory in the Syrian presidential elections, conducted in May 2021. Assad previously chose Arnous as Prime Minister in August to supplant Emad Khamis.Syrian former prime minister Emad Khamis was sacked in June 2020, when the Syrian Arab Republic plunged into a financial crisis and the Syrian pound crashed. Arnous previously worked as Minister of Water Resources, prior to becoming Prime Minister.
