KABUL, Afghanistan - On Monday, Afghan sources said the Taliban militants have seized the control of the district in Paktia province located in the east of Afghanistan. Sources further added that after the 3 days of ferocious battle Janikhail district of Paktia province fell into the hands of the Taliban . The senior police officer of Paktia province said Taliban militants have captured the control of large part of the district. Afghan military sources informed the Tolo News agency that several checkpoints are still in our control, during the 3 days of consecutive battle 11 militants were killed and several others were wounded. Two days ago, following the fierce battle, Taliban militants took back the control of the Kohistan district of northern Faryab province and Taiwara district of western Ghor province.
