Hamas Rifle Attack Injures Eleven Israelis

GULF NEWS —  Hamas gunman shoots at an Israeli civilians' bus in the West Bank, injuring 8 including 4 IDF members, 3 of whom are in critical condition. At least 8 people were wounded including 3 gravely injured, when a Hamas carried out the attack on a civilian bus near the West Bank town of Ariel on Friday. Hamas's armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, took responsibility for the shooting and revealed the shooter as Samir Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, 46, of the Einabus hamlet adjacent to Nablus.  After the shooting incident, security forces shot and killed the shooter. An initial Israeli military investigation found that the assailant drove from the Tapuah Junction to Gitai Avisar, a route free of internal checkpoints. The shooter parked his car on the side of the road, a few meters from a bus stop, and started fire on the bus as he approached it by foot, according to the IDF.

Netanyahu Intimated That He Would Approve Ceasefire with Hezbollah

Gulf News —  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson said the Israeli cabinet is prepared to endorse a potential ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.  At a security conference with Israeli officials on Sunday evening, Netanyahu said he could endorse the Hezbollah ceasefire agreement. He said that he approved the ceasefire strategy on Monday. He further added that continued exchange fire between Israel and Hezbollah might change the scenario.  However, later Monday evening, a Lebanese official engaged in conversations confirmed that a ceasefire is likely to be declared "within 24 hours."  Several Lebanese government sources report that Lebanon has already agreed to the US-backed idea with Hezbollah's support. Brazil: Road Mishap In Alagoas State Claims 23 Lives

BRAZIL , Brasília   — Local officials in Brazil informed the mainstream media that a bus crashed into a ravine in Brazil's state of Alagoas on Sunday, killing 23 Passengers.  Rescue members confirmed that 22 people  were  pronounced   dead shortly  after the incident, and one passenger died after being taken to the hospital, according to the Alagoas state government.  With 40 passengers on board, the bus plunged into the gorge near Uniao dos Palmares. State Governor Paulo Dantas announced three days of mourning for "a terrible incident."  Brazil's President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, said the government is watching the situation and will support local leaders in rescuing and caring for the victims.

Ireland Withdraws Millions From Israeli Firms

The Irish government has taken out millions of euros from several Israeli firms. About 3 million euros have been pulled from the Irish Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) global equities portfolio by the Irish National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), according to a statement made by Yedioth Ahronot on Friday.  The move to divest includes shareholdings worth a total of 2.95 million euros in 6 entities: Bank Hapoalim BM, Bank Leumi-le Israel BM, Israel Discount Bank, Mizrahi Tefahot Bank Ltd, First International Bank, and Rami Levi Chain Stores. Irish Finance Minister Michael McGrath described the measure as the "right decision." "ISIF believed that the risk profile of these investments no longer fits within its investment parameters and that the commercial objectives of these investments may be accomplished through other investments. India - 31 People lost lives After A Severe Flood Swept Through Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nado authorities said at least 31 people were killed this week in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu due to floods and heavy rain. The report also stated that rescuers were having difficulty reaching hundreds of people who were still stranded in high water.  Torrential downpours crippled many cities in the state, overrunning entire neighborhoods, roadways, and railway tracks just days after a cyclone devastated India's south-eastern coast.  "The death figure may evolve," federal officials told the media, adding that more than 40,000 people had been evacuated so far, with operations continuing to reach those who remain stuck.  The meteorological headquarters reports that the state of Tamil Nadu received nearly 64 mm of rain this week—more than twice the normal amount of 20 mm for this time of year.  Over the course of the next five days, further rain is predicted in several districts around the state, according to the meteorological agency.

Israel Killed 83 Journalists Since October: Journalists Syndicate

As per the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Israel killed 83 Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Charles University In Prague Sprayed With Bullets, Leaving Dozens Dead & Wounded

Czech emergency services said on December 21 that at least 15 people were killed and 24 more were injured in a shooting at Charles University in Prague.  The Czech police report that the attacker, who acted alone recognized as a university understudy, is among the dead. At about 5 pm in the afternoon at the time of publication, the Prague Emergency Medical Service reported eleven people with critical injuries, eight with serious injuries, and five with minor wounds were received.  Prague is the Czech Republic's capital and largest city, as well as the historical capital of Bohemia.
